i'm aided to my feet
and proudly stand alone
...
i read your wisdom
admire your honesty
relate to your feelings
love your wordsmithing
appreciate your theology
enjoy your life-pictures
follow your bliss
while i cannot find my own
...
and then i stop
want no more
...
i envy your insight
resent your vulnerability
desire your approach
begrudge your creativity
covet your faith
spite your gratitude
despise your bliss
while i cannot find my own
...
until i fall once more
and cannot rise alone
...
ann,
it seems i have a love/hate relationship with reading your blog ... more accurately, i suspect, it reflects my relationship with myself ... sometimes a prayer; sometimes a swear ... what i would not give to share a comfortable cup of tea with you one day.
blessings,
sarah

True artists/writers, in my opinion, have always looked at themselves squarely in the heart and told the truth, no matter what it is they see. Beautiful ode to Ann. Have a wonderful day, Sarah. Petra
Ann should feel truly honored. Beautiful writing as always Sarah!
Funny, isn't it, Sarah? The interpretations I've gotten on this poem. Maria was my best friend in h.s. I think I wrote this poem sometime after college. Am not sure. But I found it and thought I'd post it.
Most definitely comfortable in my own skin, but you probably have memories as a teenager wanting to look and act like someone you admired. Well, I loved her black curly hair as opposed to my blonde limp hair; her brown eyes, not blue eyes. The grass always looked greener then. But you're right. To this day, I observe those who are aging gracefully and think, "I hope I look like that."
Ah, poetry and all its different interpretations. *laughing* Will be back to enjoy a comfortable cup of tea. :))
Just making my rounds, and, here I am again to say hello, with my cup of tea. Have a wonderful day, Sarah!
You are such a talented writer. I can't wait to buy your future book. :)
